Sum of risk factors for the development and progression of renal disease - factors for initiation and progression
During the last years there is growing evidence about the risk factors for the development and progression of renal disease. Many studies have pointed out on particular risk factors as well as on those that promote progression of renal disease. According to evidence and comparing to cardiovascular risk factors, particular risk factors that affect and determine global clinical course of kidney disease were tried to be identified. Therefore we can differentiate factors for initiation and for progression of kidney disease, having in mind that overlapping of those factors is present. In this review several risk factors are presented, some of them are established as important elements of clinical course of kidney disease (for instance proteinuria, high blood pressure). Better understanding of those risk factors which is based on prospective studies and randomized clinical trials will allow us forming renal risk score system. Based on this score system we will be in position to establish renal risk in the global population as well a . s in chronic kidney disease
Key words:
chronic kidney disease, risk factors, proteinuria, blood pressure, biochemical risk markers, renal progression
