Public health approach in chronic kidney disease prevention - screening for chronic kidney disease

Abstract:

Preventive examinations are not frequent enough conducted. Early detection (screening) of chronic kidney diseases is a recommended method suitable for prevention in high risk groups, especially in those with hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, disease presence in family history, obesity, etc. The successful chronic kidney disease screening management and conduction scenarios have been described in the article. Planning challenges of screening, budget, leadership and leaders, selecting population to be involved and methods (screening tests), education, campaigns, PR for citizens, location and needed personnel, project duration, data collection and analysis and information production and usage, all have been particularly specified and elaborated. It has also been emphasized that all persons with positive test results must be provided with further rapid and effective diagnostics and therapy procedures. With particular regard it has been high lightened that the quality and reliability of data and information depend on motivation of the screening conducting personnel and hardware and software used for data entry and analysis.
