The influence of some vitamins and minerals on arterial hypertension

Author: Martina Matovinović, Bojan Jelaković
Abstract:

Certain micronutrients (vitamin D, folic acid, vitamin B6, magnesium, zinc, vitamin E and vitamin C) can play a significant role in regulation of arterial hypertension, and substitution of micronutrients deficiency may lead to a positive balance in favor of vasodilation and blood pressure regulation. An integrative approach to obtaining the control of arterial blood pressure includes a knowledge about nutrition, especially about functional nutrition, vitamins, and minerals. A combination of substitute nutritional therapy, lifestyle changes and optimal pharmacological therapy is advised in achieving the best arterial blood pressure control.
