Abstract:

The comprehensive approach and clinical management of patients with depression should be based on an individual approach, focused on the patient, and it includes early detection of symptoms, stating the correct diagnosis, assessing the impairment of social and occupational functioning, assessing suicide risk, determining the leading clinical symptoms and indications for hospitalization. Developing an individual treatment plan is based on psyhobiosocial model of depression and includes choice of medication, psychotherapy, psychosocial procedures, evaluation and relapse prevention.
