Treatment of chronic hepatitis C after liver transplantation

Abstract:

In the Republic of Croatia, hepatitis C is the second most common indication for liver transplantation. Posttransplantation recurrence of hepatitis occurs in 95% of recipients. The course of recurrence is unpredictable and rapid. Therefor the treatment of hepatitis C is indicated in all liver transplant recipients. According to the current European guidelines, the therapy in both liver transplant candidates and in post-transplant recurrence is based on direct acting drugs.
