Infection control in dental settings
Proper knowledge of adequate infection control measures in dental offices and dental laboratories provides the inability of transmitting infective agents between staff and patients. It is important to note that standard infection control procedures are sufficient in preventing disease transmission in these institutions, and include standard infection control measures related to the staff, office space, instruments and equipment, handling waste as well as the procedures related to the work in dental laboratories and X-rays. These standard infection control measures are sufficient for preventing the transmission of hepatitis and HIV. It is of utmost importance to have knowledge of standard infection control measures as it is an effective way to prevent the transmission of infections, and failure to comply with these measures seriously threatens the health of the dental staff and their patients.
