Fixed combination based on perindopril and amlodipine for the treatment of arterial hypertension– case report
Arterial hypertension is a major independent risk factor for cardiovascular diseases and mortality and represents a significant public health problem. Despite increasing awareness and knowledge of physicians and patients about the consequences of uncontrolled hypertension and the availability of new pharmacological approaches in treatment of hypertension, a large number of patients still do not reach target blood pressure values, and the cost of treatment is increasing. Experiences from clinical practice indicate that by using an individual approach and selecting a fixed combination of perindopril and amlodipine better compliance in the treatment of hypertension can be achieved, as well as lower blood pressure, reduction in the variability of blood pressure and decreased rise in blood pressure early in the morning, in order to prevent the occurrence of adverse clinical outcomes.
