Epileptic attack: emergency procedure in dental office

Abstract:

Epilepsy is one of the most frequent disorders in neurology and it is described as chronic disorder of the cortex cells, which arises as side-effect of their pathological outbreaks, form the epileptogenic focus, and spreading on the nearby healthy neurons. Epileptic seizures are not by themselves disease; they are more symptoms of the severer brain disorders. The biggest problem for dental medicine is the generalized type of the epileptic seizure (grand mal), and it is also the most dramatic, dangerous, and the hardest type of all epileptic seizures. It is exceptionally important to know single phase features of a grand mal seizure because without that knowledge it is impossible to give treatment .properly to a patient in an epileptic seizure during the emergency care.
