Second expert report on the dry eye of the Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society (TFOS DEWS II) working group

Abstract:

The Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society (TFOS) is an international association based in Boston, USA, which has been dealing with the problem of tear film and eye surface for many years. In 2007, TFOS published its first expert report with guidelines for dry eye diagnosis and therapy – DEWS I. Due to the advancement of the knowledge on dry eye, published guidelines needed to be revised, and were published in the second report (TFOS DEWS II) in 2017. The most important highlights from DEWS II are the new dry eye definition, new algorithm in dry eye diagnostics and new graded dry eye therapy guidelines.
