Current concept in dental implantology
Implantoprosthetic rehabilitation as part of the dentistry became daily interest of the patients, and maintains different possibilities in every day dental practice. Insufficient mandible alveolar ridge bone, is the most common indication for such a therapy, but there are also more indications: single tooth replacement, shortened teeth sequence, and absence of single carrier for fixed prosthetic substitute. Restrictive factors are systemic diseases, some medication treatment, and some local findings in oral cavity. Usually there are no easy and quick solutions, so the duty of the dentist is to explain to the patients all dental procedures. Profit should not be our first priority in the treatment decisions.
Key words:
alveolar ridge atrophy, dental implants, implant-supported dental prosthesis
