Advanced periodontitis in patient with chronic hepatitis – case report
Advanced form of generalized periodontitis is a rare type of periodontal disease; however, the fast progression and the absence of any pronounced symptoms to as late as the terminal stage make this disease a serious condition. This form of parodontitis, unlike the chronic one, is the most common cause of tooth loss. Detailed general and periodontal anamnesis, periodontal and radiological status and microbiological findings are essential in the assessment of these cases. Due to multifactorial etiology of periodontitis, various local and general factors have to be evaluated. A correlation between a general condition and periodontal status should also be taken into account. After a detailed evaluation, etiologic therapy may be administered to improve the periodontal status and postpone tooth loss
