Ultrasound of the urinary tract
In recent years, the ultrasound (US) has become an extended hand of the doctor. Its use and irreplaceability are especially evident in the case managment of patients with urotract diseases. It is a key diagnostic tool in the recognition of urinary tract pathology, but also the first-line imaging modality for the assessment of patients with azotemia and oliguria. US of the urinary system is particularly distinguished by the fact that it is relatively easy to learn, and US images are easily generated due to the optimal anatomical placement of the urinary system. With the advancement of technology (especially portable ultrasound), it has become a diagnostic method that should be used by more doctors (with appropriate training).
