Child skin care

Abstract:

Proper skin care is important part of newborn and infant care. The aim of the optimal care of baby skin is to keep it clean, smooth and soft; preserve optimal hydration; avoid rubbing and irritation, especially in skin folds; and reduce skin conditions and diseases. Effective sun protection is also necessary. An especial problem is the care of diaper skin area, which is exposed to numerous negative factors, such as friction, moisture, faeces, urine and occlusive effect of diapers. Appropriate choice and frequent changing of diapers are essential in the care of diaper area, as well as proper skin protection. Frequent diaper change is important in prevention of diaper dermatitis, especially if cotton cloth diapers are used
