Unfavorable factors of early child growth and development – influence of environmental toxins

Abstract:

With the advances in pediatrics, genetics, epigenetics and ecology there is an increase in literature dealing with the influence of environmental factors on the early growth and development of a child. The diversity of social and environmental factors, and the speed of their changes has an impact on both the early growth and development of a child, as well as the level of health throughout life. It seems as though the central nervous system and immune system is highly vulnerable to adverse factors during the period of early growth and development, and the consequences of these changes are often visible in adulthood.
