Menopause and chronic kidney disease

Abstract:

Differences in sex hormones, exogenous estrogens, and previous pregnancies are all factors related solely to female gender. Women of reproductive age are at a significantly lower risk for cardiovascular disease compared to men of the same age and lifestyle, as well as compared to women who have entered the menopause early. Menopause is one of the risk factors associated with the development of chronic kidney disease.
