Home hemodialysis (HHD)

Abstract:

For more than 60 years, hemodialysis has been an essential form of renal function replacement in patients with end-stage renal failure. Today, most of patients get hemodialysis in health care institutions, i.e. hospital hemodialysis. In the last ten years, the number of patients on home hemodialysis has been growing. Experience to date shows that mortality and morbidity of patients on home hemodialysis are lower, and the quality of life is much better.
