Dijagnostika i liječenje karcinoma probavnoga sustava u trudnoći zahtijeva multidisciplinarni pristup i multidisciplinarni tim koji uključuje kirurga, gastroenterologa, opstetričara, neonatologa, onkologa i kliničkoga psihologa.

Tumors of the digestive system in pregnancy are rare, but with an increase in their incidence in the general population and progressively later establishment of the family, an increase in their occurrence and pregnancy can be expected in the coming years. Given that a large number of symptoms associated with the digestive system appear within normal pregnancy, they can mask the clinical presentation of cancer, often revealing the digestive tract tumors in the advanced stage. Early diagnosis is particularly important in the context of colorectal cancer. Diagnosis of the digestive tract tumors in pregnancy is a devastating condition for the mother and her family, with serious emotional consequences and psychological stress. The decision to terminate pregnancy makes the situation even worse. Diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal cancer in pregnancy requires a multidisciplinary approach and a multidisciplinary team involving surgeons, gastroenterologists, obstetricians, neonatologists, oncologists and clinical psychologists.
