Multipla skleroza, s obzirom na heterogenost u kliničkoj, radiološkoj, biološkoj, patološkoj pa čak i imunopatološkoj pojavnosti, ne prezentira se samo tipičnom slikom relapsa ili progresije, već brojnim drugim simptomima i komorbiditetima. Oni se često zanemaruju u procjenama stanja bolesti i ne smatra ih se povezanim s njom, a znatno utječu na kvalitetu života. Zbog važnosti i mogućeg utjecaja na socijalnu i radnu sposobnost bolesnika, potrebno je u stručnoj javnosti povećati svjesnost o komorbiditetima MS-a. U liječenju najčešćih komorbidita potreban je timski pristup stručnjaka i bolesnika.

Due to heterogeneity of clinical, radiological, biological, pathological and even immunopathological presentation of multiple sclerosis, the disease is not presented only by typical picture of relapse or progression, but by numerous other symptoms and comorbidities as well. They are often overlooked in the assessment of the condition of the disease, and are not considered to be related to it, although they strongly effect the quality of life. Due to the importance and possible impact on the social and work ability of patients, it is necessary to increase awareness of the comorbidities of MS among the professionals. In the treatment of the most common comorbidities, a team approach of specialists and patients themselves is required..
