Bubrežna bolest u ženaKidney disease in women

The incidence of chronic kidney disease is on the rise globally. Chronic kidney disease is becoming increasingly important, as is the relationship between chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular disease. However, insufficient attention is paid to the female population, although the risk of developing chronic kidney disease is higher in women and the mortality from cardiovascular disease in women has been increasing. We are witnessing an under-implementation of cardiovascular disease prevention measures in women. The cause is partly the lack of recognition of the problem, but also the general lack of application of preventive medicine measures in the female population. It is necessary to raise awareness of the problem and to make additional efforts in the implementation of timely diagnostics and adequate monitoring of kidney disease in women.
